Kevin Otto 'Location: Igloolik, Nunavut. This was my first visit above the arctic circle, I was very excited to see a place I had never been before. While up north it was apparent the magnificence of it all. But how do I capture that in a still frame? Well it took me all week, on my very last day. Heading to the airport home, I noticecd the sunrise beaming down in the most perfect of ways. I shouted Stop, stop, I cannot miss this!”. The driver pulled over, and the photo explains the rest.'

Francis Reid 'This photograph taken on Herschel Island. This is a photo of Bistort from a lemming spoint of view. I lay on the ground to take the picture.'
Sarah Taylor 'This photo was taken on the Ingram Trail, just north of Yellowknife. This photograph is representative of Polar Wildlife & Landscape because it captures the sun shining through the ice fog over the boreal forest. I just really liked the light illuminated the fog; this is just one of the extremes of the northern landscape , an endless boreal forest , a sun obscured by ice fog. The sun looks so small in comparison with the forest.'
Tommy Paniloo 'It is a photo of the landscape just outside of Taloyoak, NU. It is taken from the school.'
Tyler Heal 'The metropolis sleeps: Yellowknife on a bitter day in January.'
Zoe Shea Guile 'This is a photo of a ptarmigan for the wildlife category and was taken in my very own backyard. I personally find these birds very amazing, they can withstand the extreme cold and change colour from brown to white every winter. I feel very blessed to live in the north and be able to easily see many different types of wildlife such as ptarmigan in my own backyard.'
Natasha Irniq 'Bay of Kangiqsujuaq, mountain (Ceci est une photo de la baie de Wakeham)'
Noah Tuktoo 'It is a photo of the white winter landscape and the Roman Catholic Church in Taloyoak, Nunavut.'

This photograph has many aspects of the Canadian North. You can see the snow covered ground, the northern sunset, the Canadian flag, as well as the freezing temperature. All of which are significant to the Great White North. * This picture was taken on one of the rare warm days.'

It was amazing; my daughter, Ashley, started taking pictures of the seals since she brought her digital camera with her. '
